I cannot emphasise enough just how robust this budget DSLR has been, it was purchased after watching many hours of YouTube reviews, my criteria was to find the cheapest high quality camera I could find for making YouTube videos about our outdoor sports, fitness and outdoor adventures in Cyprus. It had to have a microphone port and large LCD flip screen, these two specifications are essential for Vlogging. It also had to be simple to use with a fast response to go into action within a couple of seconds. After more than a year of almost everyday use, it has proved to be everything I wanted and more.
Being a budget DSLR my main concern was how it would hold up with our extreme adventures, storm chasing (often in rain), the extreme high summer temperatures we experience in Cyprus, it also had to b a camera I could run with (lots of shaking and vibration when running with camera in hand) and my biggest concern was it's ability to deal with outdoor dust and dirt on mountain trails and beach sand when storm chasing.
I ran mountain trails with this camera in my hand, I exposed it to rain on storm chasing shoots (don't ever do this, it's not waterproof), I dropped it on sand at the beach, got it wet with sea (salty) water, left it exposed in the extreme Cyprus sun and got it coved it in dust on the mountain trails, I have never cleaned it. Despite all this, this amazing camera has never once complained and continues to work flawlessly. Two accessories I added which have helped the camera to withstand the daily abuse were a EW-63C lens hood and Tempered glass LCD screen protector.
If you are looking for a simple point and shoot budget DSLR that's robust well beyond it's specification, I can wholeheartedly recommend this camera.
October 20th 2019, incredible hailstones storm in the Limassol tourist area. Hailstones the size of peas that hurt a lot, especially when they hit your head! (next time I'm wearing a hat).

‘Clear and unequivocal’ emergency, say scientists. A global group of around 11,000 scientists have endorsed research that says the world is facing a climate emergency.
The researchers show six areas in which immediate steps should be taken that could make a major difference.
Energy: Politicians should impose carbon fees high enough to discourage the use of fossil fuels, they should end subsidies to fossil fuel companies and implement massive conservation practices while also replacing oil and gas with renewables.
Short-lived pollutants: These include methane, hydrofluorocarbons and soot - the researchers say that limiting these has the potential to cut the short-term warming trend by 50% over the next few decades.
Nature: Stop land clearing, restore forests, grasslands and mangroves which would all help to sequester CO2.
Food: A big dietary shift is needed say researchers so that people eat mostly plants and consumer fewer animal products. Reducing food waste is also seen as critical.
Economy: Convert the economy's reliance on carbon fuels - and change away from growing the world's gross domestic product and pursuing affluence.
Population: The world needs to stabilise the global population which is growing by around 200,000 a day.
